Boise: A Week of “Firsts”

Breathe In. Breathe Out.

Before I begin, I would like to pause and reflect…. If I could sum up this week in one sentence it would be: “Cherishing the moments that make life worth living.”

I’m not sure if it’s my close proximity to the big 4-0 or if I’m just having a “moment” but for the first time in possibly my entire life, everything makes sense. Who I am, what I’m doing, where I’m at…everything. Even if this is a fleeting feeling that may last hours, days, weeks, or if I’m lucky, years, I’m going to run with it for as long as I can. Why waste a good thing?

It’s been approximately 1 week since you’ve heard me say it, so I’m going to repeat myself yet again….I love BOISE!!!!

Even better….WE love Boise.

I can for sure see making this home for a very long time. It’s the best of the best. The greatest place I’ve ever lived and that includes the central coast of California! There is something here for each of us and it’s quite special.

This week has been full of some firsts, some big, some small, but each a rewarding experience in it’s own right. One of my favorite things is the fact that we’ve driven the truck less than 10 miles all week! We ride our bikes EVERYWHERE! It’s been fantastic! Not only is it great exercise, but for me, it reduces stress and saves us tons of money on gas so we can afford to try out all the other great things Boise has to offer! <3

The other big thing this week was my involvement in the Boise River Boogie a kayak/run event that I did with a new group of women that I’ve met on meetup.com-The Bold Betties. A shout out to an amazing group of women. I’m so happy I found such a great group of ladies to hang out with!!! Women supporting women. What a concept! Hey, we’re all in this game together, why not be friends??!!??  I’m super excited to go to more events and be a part of this group.

This week we’ve also made numerous single serving friends while out and about (people here are so friendly!), went to a Frisbee dog competition, checked out the Hyde Park Street Fair full of artists, food, beverage, bands, and laughter, rode over 100 miles by bike, experienced the Boise Library (so amazing!), bikes and beers with new friends, walked my kayak 1/2 mile to my favorite park, met a massage therapist/lymphatic worker/color hydrotherapist who taught a class entitled, “Why Your Lymphatic System Matters” which was FANTASTIC, tasted a vegan doughnut (YUM!), and I’ve started reading some books about Ayurveda, a 3,000 year old holistic approach to whole body healing (getting in touch with my mind, body, and spirit).

I’m pretty sure I’ve just scratched the surface of the week I’ve had, but WOW! Life feels so amazing right now. Here are a few more pics from the week.

Redundancy is hard to escape at times, but when I manage to sneak out of my comfort zone, I find the magic of life exposes to you many of its hidden secrets.

Wishing you all a little magic in the upcoming week.

Until next time……….
